Morse Code is still useful in certain circumstances. There are a lot of objects where you can use its properties as a substitute for the main set of sounds used.
It’s nice to meet all you. I am she/her, can speak Toki Pona and English (non-natively), and locatable on Reddit as MozartWasARed. The links at https://discord.gg/sEuSSDz6TQ and https://www.deviantart.com/triagonal/art/My-copyright-policy-and-the-impact-it-extends-into-906668443 are pertinent to me.

I speak a few.
English - Should start out with English since it’s the lingua franca even though it was my second language in two ways. The “native” language of my specific community was a pidgin, so I had access to half of the English language. I would learn this half and the other half later, and yet still be dragged down by my sloppy order of learning, my neurodivergence, and my “hermeneutic” thought process while engaging in dialogue.
Morse Code - My adoptive parents were huge with their communication business at the time. I have absolutely no memory of this, and it’s possible they may be exaggerating, but they told me they tried teaching me Morse Code before they taught me anything else to see if I would “pick it up”, and they said they stopped when it “worked too well”. It is true I have known how Morse Code works for as long as I remember (even though this isn’t saying a lot, the parts of my childhood I remember go back only as far as five years old).
Toki Pona - It is said to be the world’s easiest means of speaking to learn. I picked it up before my teen years, the Toki Pona half one year and the Toki Ma or Kokanu half years later.
Dothraki - I picked this because I really used to like Game of Thrones. Perhaps the only one I picked up neatly in one piece.
Other languages - Not fluently, but I also know bits and pieces of Tahitian, Maori, and Portuguese. Portuguese was my class of choice in middle school, but after I completed that class, the language mostly just vanished from me. Being the “kiwiphile” (Kiwi culture admirer) I come across as, I also would sneak Maori equivalences to sayings into projects and endeavors, such as an artist ID tagline saying “kia tau te aroha noa ki a koutou” (“grace be upon you”).
Hello. How are you today?
I’d work more, since I have so little money that free time without additional income would dry up my money fast.
If you didn’t, it would be considered slavery, would it not?
Well it’s true. Both Chernobyl and the Exxon oil spill can be in part traced back to this issue.
You should probably work somewhere else if your job doesn’t allow you to get your eight hours of sleep. Minimum wage without minimum sleep is akin to cheating.
Having a family.
Someone I know had a ceremony modeled after the Klingon ceremony from Star Trek.
I grew up thinking “sympathy” meant the ability to feel sorry for someone while “empathy” meant relatably feeling sorry for everyone, as in you could flashback to the experience someone was going through.
This is not a default attribute of mine, so when people would ask me about having empathy, I’d say “no, I don’t have that”. This grew into a misunderstanding which grew into a bad aspect of my reputation.
That said, even with the misunderstanding in mine, I still think our worth comes from our character and that alone. Whether someone mentally is actually in-tune to how everyone else thinks is irrelevant.
Well yeah, Mao Zedong is kinda like Chinese Muhammad or Chinese Charlemagne (not supporting the guy, but still). Were you not expecting to catch some passionate attention? I mean, I’d also ask that of everyone; China is kind of known for censoring things, like Italians and cheese or Icelanders and their elves, so it’s weird to see people think the equivalent of “I’m going to a flock of crows dressed up as an owl because it’s exercising freeeeeeeedom!”
I don’t “support” that from a Chinese government perspective, as their journey for power and reach, like a lot of territorial groups, involved lots of death and domination over things that couldn’t “ethically” be owned, but from a service owner’s perspective, I mean, if it’s rightfully the child of your own two hands, it’s just your right to ban as you wish.
I had a couple of idols in my childhood I wanted to meet (technically three, but I kind of accepted the third would be out of the question). I met one, and am proud to say we’re great friends who regularly communicate, but the other one remained unmet, and a few years ago, he sadly committed suicide. RIP Jason David Frank.
I’d see this as a sign his social circle might accept you as the cool stock adult.
You can count on me not to fall into that category of people. You can even talk to me anytime you want with no anxiety attached.
You’re welcome <3
How can you be a troll when you joined today?
Would it necessarily be you being a contrarian to your own views if there was a reasoning for it? For example, I have a friend who has had a job as a chef yet ethically will tell you food should be eaten for nutrition and never for pleasure. Many who are thrown off by this ask why, and he says it’s because sometimes “food fancification” can serve as a gateway to what is important if used methodologically. When we first became friends, he knew I often did what amounted to stress-starving, and he would imply opposition to this and try to “sway” me with the best food I’ve ever had. So there’s always such nuance.
Another friend of mine, my other best friend, has been a door-to-door officer, and yet probably will never pass a physical exam. Was it based on a shortage of applicants? Does she have some kind of unsung skill? Who knows, but in a city where the ACAB philosophy is said to persist, many have noticed people on parole aren’t nearly as at unease around her due to her “meekness” (which might not always be a good thing, but whatever), so she is a favorite pick. The two best friends also go spelunking in their spare time, despite, again, one being “meek” and both lacking certain expected traits, and they are probably five miles below my feet right now.
I am in what many have called a similar situation. I’ve always been stereotyped in peoples’ minds as being susceptible to stage fright, so along comes my teen-ish years when I got my occupation and it amounts to working at a media company. It throws people off for some reason, at least until they realize the avoidable circumstances don’t have to apply in every instance of someone being in that work. You make do with what you can.
Many times, what one might call a conflict of interest or a double standard or whatever you want to call it doesn’t exist.
I don’t have one of those things at the moment, but there is the other thing, which I currently use alongside an ipad, which would show those of us who go to rehearsal at a post-rehearsal event.
Believe me, if there was something I could do to help, I’d do double that effort. I’d go so far as to say if I encountered you on my streets, I’d introduce you to a few good people.
What were you and why didn’t it last?
