15% is a pretty low bar in a winner take all election, and being able to possibly win seems like a reasonable standard if the goal is to have a real debate. In that case I would include the top 5 polling candidates, no matter how low their percentage is. That way there is a chance for sokething to be important other than the talking points of the two major parties.

I don’t think it would be better, but then again the ‘debates’ are pointless any as they are just another place to spout campain slogans, and no actual debate occurs.

Debates are not some kind of regulated and managed thing that exists for candidates to show up to. They are hosted by third parties and all of the rules and setup are decided by the third party and the political parties, so of course rhe two big names get to didctate how they are run. Even having a minimum amount of polling is subjective and part of the process of setting up the debate. If both of the major parties won’rlt show up if a third party candidate with around 10% in the polls is included, the the debate will exclude that third party candidate.

How the hell is captain brain worms polling at 10% without stealing a bunch of votes from Trump? This country is doomed.

Colluding involves communication and coordinated ation. They don’t need to collude because excluding third parties is in their best interest.

Both parties are still wary after the outcome in 1992 when Ross Perot received nearly 20% of the vote after being included in the debates. Neither want to risk having a wildcard on stage.

They used to follow regulations, or at least pretended to.

Now they all sue because they know they have a decent chance of having regulations overthrown by a court system stacked with pro-corporate justices that have zero respect for precedent or the general piblic.

It is his job to promote himself as a candidate and point out his opponents flaws, like being an insurrectionist who can’t stay awake at his own criminal trials.

Rehabilitation requires understanding that doing a thing is wrong. Gore shows no signs that she thinks the thing is wrong, just that the way that the extremist members of the party went about it was wrong, and that it impacted her personally.

The voting bloc that view Trump as a potential president don’t matter, because they are unreasonable and certainly won’t be swayed.

Taking a stand against Trump as a candidate by pointing out reality could sway the reasonable, but apparently uninformed, people that need it to be reminded out that an insurrectionist who is facing a massive number of felonies can’t even stay awake in court.

Doing debates because of MAGA idiots validates the MAGA idiots. Acknowledge they exist, but don’t cater to their message.
