Ah, I was wondering why it would be viewed as something on Disney+ when it’s actually on Hulu in the States.
I rather liked it
Fair enough, to be clear I haven’t seen EVERYTHING Kaitlyn’s been in and this very well could be something she does for the paycheck. I’m just excited to see her in something else because she’s a pretty good actress from what I can tell.
I’ve seen Kaitlyn Dever in 2 movies (Civil War & Alien: Romulus) and 3 series (Dev, The Premise, and Last Man Standing). She’s never missed.
I don’t know if leaning into the Velma effect will be a profitable long-term play
They make them but they aren’t intensely marketed. They rely on word of mouth but they don’t get as much word of mouth as A24 movies so they often fall by the wayside.
Ain’t nobody talking about Small Things Like These, which is why despite a minimal $12.4m budget it only made $8.9m back.
Yeah in my top ten list (of which only one I saw at home rather than in theaters), the only movies that were based on existing IP were Dune Part Two, The Wild Robot, and Godzilla Minus One.
This happening despite “equity”-focused policies like DEI in corporate America surprises me. Something about the 2024 and 2025 film schedules seem a bit odd/thin, I wonder how much success women will have in 2026.
Do y’all think this is a marketing issue, or women not getting enough opportunities in Hollywood, or audiences rejecting female filmmakers?
What PG-13 content would you like to see rated R? There are certainly some things I’ve seen like Venom and the Dune movies that due to their tone and subject matter I had to keep remembering that they were rated PG-13.
Ah I see. That makes sense then. I didn’t know she was behind the camera when she got shot.
But wasn’t Baldwin not even supposed to be shooting at the person he killed? If he had shot someone he was supposed to fire a blank at, I understand. Aren’t you supposed to practice gun safety even with replicas? Don’t point at anything you’re not willing to shoot?
A really cheesy way to put it but I generally agree. However I don’t think that Alec Baldwin pressured the prosecutor to back off, I think the prosecutor didn’t want the smoke from other entities like Baldwin’s managers or business partners, or Alec Baldwin’s fans
That’s true, it sort of seems like negligent homicide to me.

I always thought that killing someone, even on accident, is against the law.
I mean he shot that woman and killed her as far as I know, are there more details I’m not aware of?
What a shame.
I thought it wasn’t that bad. I liked the action sequences and what they were trying to do with the story. If the dialogue wasn’t so hacked together I would have liked it much better.
Joker and Shazam were good. Theo other stuff post Justice League either I haven’t seen or wasn’t good, beyond the second Suicide Squad ofc. (I did like Birds Of Prey but I admit that was a bad movie)
Joker 2 was great even though it was a pretty big step down from the first movie, but only I and Nando V Movies think that.
There are two reasons this movie is on my watchlist: the title, and the cast:
