I don’t know, it sounds like it slightly redirects only the air at the margins that contacts the blower tube, which reduces turbulence. The noise reduction is due to the decreased turbulence, not a reduction in airflow. If I had to guess, the actual reduction in airflow is probably negligible, and they don’t describe it in more detail because they’re trying to commercialize it
This doesn’t at all say they had to do this “or else,” it only talks about disruptions, not protests, and no one was compelled to be there. You literally started this thread with an article about some students who protested without causing a disruption, dufus
Source?
We get it, you’re really dedicated to posting negative things about Joe Biden. “Did not receive a standing ovation from some of the crowd” is really reaching though
“Several students,” so what are we talking, 3? 5? Read his damn speech OP
Austin’s been trying hard! Every effort at rewriting the land development code to allow for denser development has been struck down by state courts after lawsuits or the legislature has intervened. City Council is trying to find legally bulletproof methods of allowing increased density. It’s hard to see how decreasing the buildable lot size can be undone, but I also live in Texas and know our state government doesn’t care as much about the law as they do about their feels.
Now the state is trying to stop us from building the light rail system we voted for a couple years ago, too…
Also that old pic is missing like 10 towers
Many of the “founding fathers”/early US leaders were deists. They were super skeptical of organized religion in any form, and most dismissed out of hand the superstition and social control associated with religion. The US revolution happened at the height of the Enlightenment.
The House can pass whatever it wants, the Senate won’t even consider it. How long did Republicans in the House stall that military aid bill to Israel because they didn’t want Ukraine getting military aid? Doesn’t seem like this was very urgent for them even a month ago.
“This directive is a clear violation of free speech,” Giuliani said in his thread. “WABC’s decision comes at a very suspicious time, just months before the 2024 election, and just as John (@JCats2013) and WABC continue to be pressured by Dominion Voting Systems and the Biden regime’s lawyers.”
Bold of Giuliani to continue defaming Dominion. The man is facing destitution and is running out of options. Doubling down on these lies to try to extract financial support from people who believe them is about all he’s got left.
I’d also really like media to start demanding evidence of the claims of bald antisemitism
This is the worst part about reading/hearing about these stories in the news. Really early in this cycle, I heard a story on NPR where they interviewed a student at Columbia who talked about the pain and death happening in Gaza, and then they said, “but some people say the protests are anti-semitic,” and they proceeded to interview a woman who was not a student and had not been to campus who said “I feel attacked.”
There was absolutely no follow up on what was anti-semitic about what was happening, it was just taken at face-value that that woman saying it was anti-semitic made it so. I actually cancelled my $5/mo NPR contribution after that story
You demanding more evidence right now and saying these students’ project “is concerning” is not having a conversation about the validity of their claims, it’s just being petulant. Saying, “I’ll be interested to see the specs” or “I’ll keep an eye out for testing data before I believe this” would convey the same thing without coming off like an asshole
