This certainly isn’t a solution, but can probably improve the lives of invidual households, and still means that a little less electricity comes from fossil fuels.

Fabric can be made water-resistant without plastic.

Linen my beloved, polyester can rot in hell.

Clothing shouldn’t be made with plastic in the first place. Synthetic fibers suck ass.
