Yup morality prevents good people from being ruthless to get ahead. The sociopaths obviously don’t care about that.

I’ve been saying this for years.

This government was setup with several base assumptions. One was a minimum level of societal expectation from those in power positions. And along that same expectation, only white male land owners would be able to vote. This meant that there was a base expectation that a voter had enough time to stay informed of current events, and to be educated about politics so they could have have an informed opinion worthy of a vote.

We have removed many state nearly everyone has the right to vote and voice their desires and expectations, but nothing was done about the other side of this societal equation.

Instead of only men with the available time and societal expectations to be actively political, stay educated, and up to date; now everyone has an equal chance to voice their opinion, whether or not they have any education about a topic, pay attention to politics at all, or even know how any of our government functions beyond filling out a bubble on a piece of paper next to a letter of the alphabet they believe they identify with. The barrier to entry for voting is essentially non-existent compared to what the system was originally designed with.

And there is nothing to force them to do what they said they would once they are confirmed. Congress would have to impeach them and remove them from office, and that definitely isn’t going to happen.

A LOT of pharma research gets significant public funding. They then patent it and privatize the profits. Then spending millions on advertising.

Then they try and justify pricing from the total cost of not only development, but also advertising budgets, while avoiding any mention of where the actual development funding came from in the first place.

That’s not for everything, but it’s a large enough number of drugs and treatments that the entire industry is based on bullshit.

If only we knew what the real costs of treatment are, not the bullshit prices the industry decides they’ll say it is and then negotiate a barely more realistic real cost with insurance companies.

Guess we’ll have to wait until this is approved in other countries for a real answer.

Not only then, they’re allowed to recoup deployment costs as separate surcharges, not part of plan costs, and they’re still charging for infrastructure they already completed decades ago.

These drugs were developed with public funds and yet are sold at outrageous pricing.

If the pharma industry was at all reasonable about their pricing, this wouldn’t be a consideration at all.

If you take public funds, you can’t charge exorbitant amounts. Seems an easy trade-off decision for them to make.

To believe what current US conservatives are claiming now, you have to be developmentally defective at this point.

Ah yes more “crushing” tech… High density and fast charging… Always means it’s only good for like 100 charge cycles so it’s effectively useless in reality.

So… When the name Google started only referring to the actual web services instead of everything the parent company was doing. Those types of things are still there, they’re just part of Alphabet (literally the old Google), which the media doesn’t really talk about anymore because the average person has no idea what that means, but they know Google.

They sell based on name recognition and history. Their father, grandfather, and great grandfather all bought a Ford so they will too. They have tens of decades of repair shops with experience, cheap third party parts replacements, and because many people just keep buying the same thing without ever doing any comparison or thinking about it.

You either pay for FSD via a monthly subscription OR the full price. So it’s either $200/mo or $12,000. It’s not both. The subscription option gives you an option to try it before purchasing, or to add and remove it when you want, like for long road trips or something like that.

It’s just two different options for people to pick from.

That’s just the new subscription cost. It is meant a san alternative to the full purchase cost.

As functionality has been added, the price has increased over the years, the current price is $12,000 for the FSD upgrade over basic Autopilot.

The subscription also lets you try it out and cancel if you don’t want it instead of having to make the decision up front for thousands of dollars.

Tesla has no dealers. They sell directly, which is why they cannot sell vehicles in some states. Some states require vehicles to be sold through dealers.

Or… Get this… You can just not buy the fucking car if you don’t like the terms. You’re not forced to buy a Cybertruck at launch.

Once production increases I’m sure this restriction will be removed just like most other vehicle resale restrictions from other manufacturers. Not all though, Ferrari has limitations even on things like paint color and wraps, Deadmau5 completely got rid of his wrapped Purrari because of that bullshit once Ferrari started trying to enforce it.

But none of you people will be in comments talking about the resale restrictions being removed once production is ramped, just complaining now about hypotheticals for a vehicle you never intend on purchasing to begin with because you either don’t like Tesla or Musk specifically.

Like with other manufacturers with similar limitations, the limitation for resale is only for the first year. It literally is just to try and prevent people buying and flipping the car for a profit. If you don’t like the vehicle you can sell it back to Tesla outside the normal return window. Or wait a year and sell it to someone else.
