Unfortunately there are enough lunatics who would buy this either as a joke, or because they see Musk as some prophet

You have to be a colossal idiot to buy this car. You have to be an even bigger idiot to buy it from a scalper
I admire their dedication, but at the same time strongly disagree with asking people to pay money for a service, that’s fundamentally based on a hole in a reverse engineered protocol. They won’t win this
Finding an alternative is the easy part. You can get yourself a domain on Namecheap, and get an email attached to it for pennies.
Issue is that a lot of services out there don’t consider alternative email providers as valid. Some as a protective measure against spam, some because… fuck knows why, honestly
This is what scares me the most. At a certain point, we’ll just have to go “whoops, our planet has no more resources to leech”, and we’ll be permanently stuck in stone age
It was a great messaging app, before all the extra bullshit was added to it. The focus was on doing one thing, and doing it right. Now they do 35 different things, and abandon them in favor of mtx for profiles
I’m really not a fan of heavy-handed approaches like this. I understand why most of the listed domains are on the proposed blocklist, but Tutanota and Proton are the two most common private email options. Rambler is a Russian news aggregate, so I’m not sure why that’s in the list, politics aside
It’s not a question of IF it will. It will. Both financially, and morally
You’re genuinely just talking out of your ass here. There’s a difference between “freedom of speech” and freedom from consequences. Quit lying to yourself
My guy, what do you think an ad network uses people’s data for? This is not even a hypothetical situation. They will absolutely sell anything they can to some dogshit corporation, for targeted adverts
So they’re not even arguing that they’re selling children’s data. They’re arguing against the block on such sales. Rotten to the core
I bet the delivery guy would still pretend he knocked the door and still mark it as if no one was home
They host their iMessage related shit the exact same way, so the amount of trust in the service is basically identical, at 0
I’ve always wondered how these things happen. Clearly a massive car manufacturer should have some kind of a feedback group about what will potentially go into new vehicles, right? I can’t imagine anyone enjoying getting distracted from the road, to navigate between piano black plastic, and laggy nested touchscreen buttons
