As long as they think fascism will only hurt the people they want hurt, they will go right along. By the time they realize their mistake it will be too late.

I agree, but that changes nothing about why maga is upset, and I’m quite sure concern that their plans for a Republican dictatorship might be further threatened is a big component of why.
I’ve literally never seen someone self-identify as a neocon before. I don’t intend that as a loaded statement if it sounds that way; I’m legitimately surprised.
I see your point, but if we don’t talk about it then we don’t know it’s happening. There’s no one here in this thread arguing with anyone about it, it’s just people learning one more thing to remember if (somehow) they are still on the fence about whether they would vote for him.
You think the other potential nominees are any better?
The comment was: You should ignore Trump
That’s what I replied to.
I’ll die of old age before there’s any chance a Republican in any election local on up gets a vote from me. I witnessed what conservatives enabled and supported in recent decades, and I saw how it all culminated in recent years. I see how many of them still say they would vote for Trump just because of R next to his name even if they claim they don’t support his policies or don’t like him. They can’t possibly reform themselves enough to get a vote from me within my remaining natural lifespan.
You think the other potential nominees are any better?
So no. But that’s not the topic.
All I need is for him to not be the presumptive Republican nominee, to not have influence on the Republican party, and to no longer have an army of stochastic terrorists just waiting for the right signal. Then I can finally in good conscience listen to the unending stream of myopic advice from people on the internet who think we should just ignore him.
“I wish I looked as good as I do on those cards, that I can tell you,” the former president says in the video.
“They give me muscles where, believe me, I don’t have them.”
Hey look, he actually can tell the truth.
This is what happens when countries rely on the US for foreign aid. We are unreliable.
Absolutely true.
Just ask the Hungarians how trustworthy we are at helping Eastern Europe throw off the Russians.
I was really looking forward to the limitless meme material that was sure to come from his testimony.
Even if we pretend her entire voting base were Democrats, and even if we pretend she’s going to have a 100% success rate convincing unregistered voters to register, and even if we pretend 100% of all her fans then vote Democrat, she’s a private citizen playing the same legal game as every other private citizen is entitled to play. She’s not breaking any laws and she’s not breaking any rules.
Republicans are entitled to do everything she’s doing.
The only thing they can possibly complain about is that the best thing they can come up with to compete is Kid Rock. sadtrombone.jpg
Oh for sure. Vilifying education as indoctrination is core to their platform.
Republicans are attacking Swift/Swifties? I need to buy more popcorn!
A woman, who has only been able to vote for about a century, actively encouraging others to vote??! Blasphemy!
I wonder if they’ll burn as many of the expensive NFL jerseys they paid for as they did when a black man had the gall to send a silent message about police brutality and inequality.
Swift’s life had been orchestrated as part of a sinister plot to encourage her fans to vote.
Reminds me of the time Republicans in some local election had sent out a mailer smearing the Dem candidate. There was a big box on one part of the card, in a large font against a dark background proclaiming that the Dem candidate wanted to “Educate and Transform you!”
Well, I thought, do your donors know you are campaigning for the Democrat?
It’s Biden, he won’t actually DO anything, just talk about it and not actually do it
I’m not a Biden cheerleader aside from thinking he is 1000x better than Trump, but this meme is getting tired.
I’d almost guarantee the original TOS had a line like “we can change the TOS at any time.”
Having said that, I also thought I’d seen quite some time ago that burying undesirable restrictions in the fine print of a TOS doesn’t help companies who fuck up as much as they hope it will in court because it’s been acknowledged that so few people thoroughly read them.
IIRC they scare people into thinking they have signed away legal rights more than they actually have. I could be wrong, but that’s my recollection.
Edit: Just a quick search - https://www.rocketlawyer.com/family-and-personal/personal-finance/consumer-protection/legal-guide/your-rights-if-a-business-changes-its-terms-of-service
Consumer protection laws
Federal law and many state laws protect consumers from a wide range of deceptive, fraudulent, or unfair business practices. As mentioned earlier, businesses can enforce their TOS even if their users did not read them in their entirety, but only if the terms are reasonable and fair. Hiding unusual terms deep in the fine print of the TOS could be considered deceptive.
“We have to obstruct justice”
Seriously, how is this not grounds for immediate repercussions?
So the editorial staff has no say in what is published in their newspaper? That’s definitely a different view of what the word “editor” means than I’ve had in the past, you’ve got a point there.
Having said that, I got a much less snarky answer explaining some things already, so your sideswipe wasn’t necessary. Thank you sir and I hope the rest of your day is as lovely as you are.
I know these things because even though I’ve never worked for a newspaper, I am old enough to have gotten an undergrad degree in journalism back in the 90s before the newspaper industry died.
Maybe it’s not my abysmal media literacy but the fact that you know these things because you have a degree in journalism. Huh. Guess I’ll find something where you have a less than perfect understanding of my area of expertise or where I’ve had some secondary education, and be sure to point out how abysmal your literacy in that area is.
Good points, thanks for the peek into the industry. Without the usual sarcasm I will say you sound like you know what you are talking about. 🙂
Depends how cynical you feel today.
IMO it’s either:
The DNC believes anyone too progressive will get stomped in the general election
Don’t forget, Dems would be conservatives in most other countries. As much as I hate to say it, I’m not convinced most of them aren’t just as beholden to corporate interests as R is.
OR
Probably a little of both of those actually. Also, maybe a dash of - boomers are going to control our politics until a bunch more boomer voters and boomer politicians die of old age.
Even if he does, clearly that’s what girlpowermarketing.com has done for him already. 😁
