It’s good to talk to a doctor about this kind of thing, especially as you get older. It’s usually nothing, but it might be a vitamin deficiency or something. A good family practitioner will know what questions to ask you.

I think I read the American version of this story at my cousin’s house. From the image, it looks like you read the Czech or the Polish version? I’m interested in the different names that characters have in different languages… who are the “Rafans” you mention? Are they the Beagle Boys?

There’s an argument to be made there but this article did not make that argument. This was just a poorly-reasoned romp through a garden of logical fallacies. I’m surprised that this was printed by The Atlantic, I thought they were better than that.

I still feel like my age is a hindrance. I’m 27yo when my groupmates are all in their early 20s. I feel old to them, especially when it comes to women.

I was in a similar situation during my first round of grad school. In retrospect, there was no need for me to feel self-conscious. A lot of guys are still pretty immature in their early 20s. By comparison, a guy in their late 20s can be mature and reliable.

Boxing Day… I’ll have to read up on that, it sounds interesting. In some places I’ve lived there were all these Saints days that took place at the start of the year… Yeah, unfortunately I think a lot of people make a big deal out of Christmas because they just want to sell things.

Oh yeah, santitation engineering is really important, I’m always like: make sure everything’s working OK, and my housemates think I’m crazy, but the alternative is that we all get some weird infection if it isn’t working.
