  • check the setting about which ways it tries to disable charging, one of them should work.

also, unfortunately ACCA has not been maintained for a while now, but the underlying acc has got some improvements (and also got incompatible with the lastversion of ACCA). so at the end you may try out acc without the ACCA app, but be aware that it involves editing a text configuration file.
if you check the acc project’s readme on github, you can also find troubleshooting steps to common problems

  • with xiaomi phones, unlocking the bootloader is not as simple as running fastboot oem unlock or such from a PC. The reason for that is that manufacturers get to decide how to implement those fastboot commands, and xiaomi decided to restrict it quite a lot.

my last experience was that to toggle on the switch on the phone that makes unlocking possible, you need

    • a xiaomi account
    • a SIM card in the phone that can send SMS
    • unfiltered internet connection (more precisely it will want to connect to a specific xiaomi domain)

then, you need to install the xiaomi unlocker tool on a windows PC, log in with the same xiaomi account as on the phone, connect the phone over USB, start the unlock process, wait like 2 weeks, and finish the unlock process with the same tool.

the unlock tool most probably just retrieves a secret code from xiaomi and passes that to fastboot, but you can’t really get around it afaik, unless you want to risk rooting it through a vulnerability, which will still leave it locked

  • I use gitea, with sometimes nextcloud tasks. I only make gitea issues for longer lived or more complex tasks because I can take a lot of notes along the way, and nextcloud tasks only for things that I want to show up in my calendar.

it would be so good if there was some kind of integration between the two, to create tasks for issues with a deadline.

earlier I have used vikunja instead of nextcloud for tasks, but it has the same limitations, plus thunderbird is not compatible with it (the only half decent calendar software I know of for windows), and the web client makes itself unusable when there’s no network, by which I mean you can’t even read the pages that you made sure to preload
