I have observed quite a lot of evidence myself already.
I have observed quite a lot of evidence myself already.
Actually it would be very possible to do if you transcribe the eavesdropped audio into text, as the built-in voice assistants already do on the fly. Small packets containing text could be indistinguishable from a variety of other excessive telemetry that the various apps and system services send out to their motherships in the name of providing a better user experience.
I can’t help but wonder why you people are always so quick to dismiss the reality of audio data collection when there are so many ways it could be done and so much evidence that it is happening. Are you stuck in a mode of cognitive dissonance that won’t let you distrust your devices, because you WANT to trust them with your privacy?
That’s what you call Damage Control. They are backpedaling after saying the quiet part out loud.
it has gotten a lot better in recent years with rural broadband at least
I have 2 different ISP options for fiber to the home now, both local smaller companies rather than the mega ISPs we all know and hate. Prices are about $50 / 100Mb symmetrical for both ISPs
Yes, exactly right. You do not need the /s at all because that is the purpose of 2A.
I’m just going to assume that you’re like the human equivalent of a toy poodle, in terms of adult life skills and general usefulness, if you can’t see the basic utility of having a pocketknife with you.
What, you don’t have a knife? You go out without the most useful tool that can fit in your pockets that can do 1000 tasks? That’s just dumb.
You fucking morons look at any kind of weapon or tool being carried as a personal threat apparently, but I’m the one you think is scared?
I don’t “need” anything to feel safe, you dipshit. I carry a knife everywhere because it’s an extremely useful tool to have on a daily basis and I use it very frequently for numerous things.
You sure are stuck in the fear-based mindset. Must be a sad way to live.
I just bought an E-bike with 40+ mile range for $275. 750W motor and 15Ah 48v battery bike with 7 gears, lights, an LCD, a cargo rack, and fat tires.
It was a good sale
Nope, that’s something you made up in your head about me. Most of the time I go out with zero guns and 1 knife, and I go wherever I want without fear because America is generally very safe.
John Halo won the Olympics for America
I’m aware of the availability of them, I’ve looked into building a private install of GPT4All. Even though we can look into those files directly, it doesn’t prove that the large “AI” systems run by the mega-corps are not storing copyrighted data. The only thing that could prove that is a complete audit of all the data storage that their “AI” systems have access to.
This will likely play out in the courts due to the numerous lawsuits in process from artists suing over their work being stolen. Legal discovery could compel that kind of data audit.
That’s what they tell you about it I’m sure, but what proof do you have?
Not really, my old Motorola from 2017 could have beat that speed tests with its 600Mb capable modem, if the telephone carriers wanted to grant that much bandwidth.
It’s all about their shitty implementation. What you think is a “5G speed” was already possible long ago but they didn’t let us have it.
That’s really a bad comparison, because you’re arguing for the point of taking away rights from Americans, by making reference to a right that was taken away (since it was never properly added to the Constitution). I support all rights for all Americans - we should all have the rights to bear arms and to privacy + bodily autonomy.
So instead of arguing to take away more rights, you should be arguing to add more rights. Lobby for the rights to privacy and bodily autonomy instead.
I’m not doing any of that. You are choosing to be afraid, when you have the freedom to choose not to live in fear because it’s never going to happen to you or anybody you know, statistically.
Enjoy your freedom instead of being afraid to live.
Damn straight. Freedom is vastly more important than people’s efforts to obtain a pretense of security.
The solution is for law enforcement to properly enforce the existing laws that could have stopped countless shootings already.
My personal solution is not to worry about gun violence because it’s extremely rare and highly unlikely to affect me. America is quite safe to live in for the majority of us.
How do you know what it’s storing? I certainly don’t, but I know what the security researchers have found that proved it was storing copyrighted material and real people’s private info or PII.
We also saw the military’s Joint Chiefs publicly rebuke Trump in 2020, when they expressed support for BLM protestors’ 1st Amendment rights to protest (after Trump wanted to send out the military to stop the protests), and when they make the public statement that Biden won the election and was their Commander in Chief.
