I would love to have an indicator for adaptive cruise control because the way it only reacts to the car right in front of you rather aggressively means it causes shockwave traffic jams unless the human driver behind you keeps enough distance.

And if the time between the crash and autopilot disengaging is over 5 seconds, I think “your honor. I wasn’t driving when the car wrecked, it was the autopilot” doesn’t work either, especially as you are still always responsible for what the car does, autopilot or not.

Don’t get me wrong though, Musk is still an idiot and Tesla lies about the capability of the system in many ways which is partly the reason people think they can stop paying attention and let it do things on its own.

Can’t wait to have to get a mandatory firmware update before my eyes or legs or something like that works again. I just hope Microsoft doesn’t get in on the cybernetics business or it’ll randomly happen while driving on the highway or forcefully fill your vision with blinding light for half an hour when you are trying to sleep.

Specifically asking the AI search tool to analyze a file for you kinda requires sending that file to OpenAI to be analyzed. And it even asks you if it’s okay first.

Because your files only get sent to the AI search service if you use the AI search feature, which it tells you will send the one specific file you are asking the AI to analyze to OpenAi. Which, you know… Duh?

The third-party AI toggle is only turned on to give all eligible customers the opportunity to view our new AI features and functionality, like Dropbox AI. It does not enable customers to use these features without notice. Any features that use third-party AI offer disclosure of third-party use, and link to settings that they can manage. They don’t want to send us videos, they want to serve us ads and annoy us into buying Youtube Premium, which someone using adblocker won’t see, or need. If the cause of the poor 2.4ghz range was tons of interference on that band, then maybe. But lower frequencies simply go farther, so 6ghz will always have a lot shorter range than 2.4ghz. Though while it’s impossible to change the laws of physics, it might be possible to change the laws around wireless telecommunication to allow it to transmit at a much higher power - not sure if WiFi 7 does.

It’s the difference between polling notifications, where each app wakes up once a minute and goes to ask their respective servers if there are any new notifications, and push notifications which, as the name suggests, are pushed to your phone once they arrive so those apps can sleep.

OTOH it weighs almost 7000lbs (~3100kg) so it’s going to plow through most of everything with its sheer mass.

In the case the crash happened later than 5 seconds after Autopilot was disabled, or it was never used in the first place, it would be in the “Tesla vehicles not using autopilot technology” part of the data.

As for automatically detecting not-crashes, that’s a bit harder to do don’t ya think?

If you are referring to autopilot, yeah, technically it does that - it turns off once it realises it can’t do anything anymore to avoid the collision so that it doesn’t speed off afterwards due to damaged sensor or glitches etc. But the whole “autopilot turns off so it doesn’t show in statistics” was a blatant lie as Tesla counts all crashes where it has been on before the crash.

But what if you don’t use texts, is there any way Apple could add that knowledge of superiority to other ways of messaging by default?

Someone paying proper attention probably would be. But a huge chunk of accidents happen because idiots are looking at their phones or fall asleep on the wheel, and at least a self driving cars, even Teslas on Autopilot, won’t do that.
