  • Considering all the noise that was made online versus the reality of his turn out at the polls during early primaries it’s plain to see Bernie was hardly ever a contender.

Even here and now we have apologetics and conspiracy in place of reality. Oh how I remember the theories of voter suppression instead of admitting his candidacy only really gained traction on Twitter and the like.

None of this bothers me however, as Trump would have likely handed Bernie his ass without breaking a sweat. I do have to confess that it would be nice if Bernie’s sycophants used this energy to actually turn out at the polls before the presidential election. I’m still not convinced a plurality of them understand how primaries work. 🤷‍♂️

  • Was traveling last month and just saw Xfinity decided to raise my internet-only bill by 40 bucks a month, and the second charge just went through. Not even an email on the rate increase from what I can tell, just a notification that I got Peacock streaming “included” (a 5.99 value).

Looking forward to the call tomorrow. Any advice outside of staying zen and remembering the human on the other end of the line?

  • More of this nonsense. Spent a fair bit of time on Reddit explaining to folks that few young people turned out for Bernie in the primary. That space was/is replete with apologists digging every conspiracy out of the book instead of acknowledging that Biden simply drew the most votes. And then of course there’s a bit of obviousness that never gets addressed: Trump handing Bernie his ass.

Here we are again. Where are the primary voters? Seems a handful of people care to make noise over the results but only a fraction of that number even care to turn out for them. What does turn out is that most people don’t end up giving a fuck about voting anything but the presidential election.

I’m sure the collective delusion feels good to immerse oneself in though.

  • From what I’ve read, his dollarization scheme is pretty out there and is complicated in that the treasury is already light on dollars and no one wants to lend the country money to buy more. In addition, citizens would dump their pesos en masse; it would be an economic suicide of sorts.

Milei has little pull in the chambers of power, but that said, he has scored allies during the campaign. Argentina also has a history of civil unrest against neophyte governments and so there’s that bugbear also.
