Yep, just like “cruise control” made tons of people drive their car into the ocean thinking they could sail it to popular island destinations.

To probably 90% of people “autopilot” means “drive automatically”.
Based on what?
Isn’t that the default location when you first install? I remember always having to move it back to the top where it belongs.
I don’t think people care about the nudity as much as they care about the intent behind the nudity. Streamers seem to be edging as close to the line of porn as they can in order to gain views and money. This isn’t someone simply walking around a beach without a top on.
I don’t care if people want to fingerbang or jack themselves on cam while playing Zelda, but don’t fucking blend it in and recommend it to people on a site specifically designed for children. That’s what turns it from “someone seeking it out on their own” (as with the availability of porn on the rest of the internet) to “let’s shove it in your face to boost our quarterly profits during an economic slump.” People can claim that this all should be prevented by rules and tags but let’s be real people are going to do whatever they can to skirt the rules and standout from the crowd and no human being is actually going to be moderating any of this just like with YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or any other similar site.
Well that’s not very “green” coming from a company who stopped supplying customers with chargers “because of the environment.” When a hard drive craps out the only solution is to replace the entire board rather than a single part with an industry standard connector?
You sound like a brain-worm infected Trump supporter with these comments.
I absolutely think that price is insane, and I’m laughing at people who willingly pay for that!
And that’s why someone invented the phrase, “ignorance is bliss.”
The problem is that this company doesn’t exist.
That’s literally the exact same amount I’m paying Comcast in suburbia. The speed it a little bit better most of the time but it’s not like I can make full use of it.
If you think that price is insane, go check out the price for legacy satellite internet and the speeds/data cap they provide for it.
Based on the older video of the CT failing to climb a rocky/dirt hill, I’d say they have a lot of work to do on their power distribution/traction control systems. Thankfully since it’s all controlled with electric motors and not a traditional transmission/transfer case/solid axle setup, it should be able to be fixed or mitigated with OTA updates.
You may be confused as I’m referring to the case from Angulo who was being quoted in the above comment.
I don’t see how a dispute between the California DMV and Tesla over the terms “Autopilot” and “Full Self Driving” make Autopilot any more dangerous than calling it something else and other companies use similar names like “ProPilot” or “PilotAssist” for their LKAS systems.
And the driver in the above case was holding his foot on the accelerator to override AP and stated “I expect to be the driver and be responsible for this… I was highly aware that was still my responsibility to operate the vehicle safely."
Autopilot isn’t any more dangerous than any other vehicle sold with cruise control over the past 30 years. I don’t understand why people are so desperate to give reckless drivers a pass rather than making them face consequences for their actions. Is it Honda’s fault if I hold my foot on the gas and drive a 1995 Civic through a red light and T-bone someone?
It’s because they think they’re experts after superficially reading through some news headlines and don’t actually do any research nor use either of these systems to gain the appropriate knowledge. They’re just playing a game of telephone with what they think they know.
This case went to trial already and the jury sided with Tesla because the driver was holding his foot on the accelerator to override cruise control, ignored the vehicles warnings, drove through numerous flashing lights, crashed through a stop sign, and then hit the couple, later stating “I expect to be the driver and be responsible for this… I was highly aware that was still my responsibility to operate the vehicle safely." Any vehicle is capable of doing this with a reckless driver behind the wheel.
Recalls do include OTA updates. It doesn’t necessarily mean you need to bring your car to a dealership or shop.
I’d say their truck drivetrains are second to none in terms of quality (and wildly popular in the modding community) but the rest of their lineup is straight cheap junk.
I said it above, but it’s worth repeating that they’re doing the exact same thing that TV manufacturers do with their shitty stores filled with outdated apps versus regularly updated third-party solutions like Roku and Firestick. Shit like this means developers have to spread themselves thin to maintain multiple different versions rather than focusing on one, which usually results in the niche versions getting neglected or quickly slapped together.
FSD is an entirely separate thing. Autopilot is just an LKAS system, or adaptive cruise control.
