Good is shortsighted. It will be here too eventually. Fuck Facebook, but hopefully we don’t build a weapon that’ll hurt us all, though in fully aware we have and are.

That was a hypothetical and you missed the point, on purpose or otherwise. The point they were making is, would they make an issue out of it even if it clearly didn’t have an effect?
Why not if you’ve got thermal space to use? Overclocking will help with single-core applications where it would struggle more otherwise. It’s also just a general boost to performance for free.
I got worse. I had some kind of sports ad or something.
Probably not. Even if they could move some credit, that’s all digital and can be removed. Like if you get scammed and report it to your bank, they can cancel that payment.
As someone on Linux, and who thinks performance is generally slightly better on my machine after switching, I totally agree. This post has been old for a while now. Get some more data and then post that new thing or stop posting it.
I would say before we were in the misinformation age. I think I’d call this coming stuff the disinformation age. Disinformation existed before, but this is another level. Creating totally new information to mislead people is somewhat different that misrepresenting what happened.
No the point. Most users won’t install anything not on the app store.
You’ve got to love internet negativity. Nothing can ever be good.
There are plenty of issues to deal with, but this is a huge improvement over the existing status-quo. Can we be happy that the Biden Administration has done something to move things in the right direction on this issue?
The US was the first to truly master trains on a large scale I’d argue, but you’re right they absolutely did not invent them.
Funny that, I didn’t have to explain to anyone what it is because the immediate reaction by people like you was "that’s not how you say ‘American’ ".
You could have called them anything and I would have known what you were talking about because of the context. The same context you used to guess “USAian” was available to everyone else.
And I guess South African should be something else, because there are other states in southern Africa? Language doesn’t really care about being “correct” with terms. It cares about being understandable. No one knows what USAian is. Everyone knows what American is. There isn’t really any debate anywhere around what to call people from the United States of America, even among other American nations.
I never said it does. I just said it’s the correct word. It’s not confusing or ambiguous. Only one country uses it. It also does represent multiple states in the americas, hence the name.
American is pretty unambiguous. What are you getting it mixed up with? No one else uses it. If you hear American, do you have to run through a list of other countries asking them which they are from? Of not, it’s unambiguous.
You could argue that it shouldn’t be the pronoun for a US citizen, but that’s a different argument than it being ambiguous.
The correct term for that is American by the way, not USAian.
We’re stopping at thousands?
Very well could be true, which is part of why I don’t mind (and appreciate when done properly) gun ownership. That doesn’t change the fact that the wording of the second amendment is for something that isn’t true anymore. Again, your rights are (or should be at least) protected by the 9th, which is much more important but most people haven’t even heard of.
The basis of the 2nd is just not true anymore. It’s like saying “physical currency, being necessary for the purchase of items, the right to possess coins shall not be infringed.” It doesn’t take into account the changes that may occur. We don’t need militias to protect the nation anymore, since we have a professional army, and we don’t need physical currency anymore, because most people don’t use it now anyway.
A lot of people seem to forget that their own view of their own government doesn’t mean the same things are true for someone else and their government.
It also doesn’t mean it’ll be true for their own government in the future. Violence sucks, but it isn’t always bad. People should be allowed to learn these thing just for the fun of it if they want. Hopefully the time never comes where they need to be practically applied (besides the situations you gave and others like them) but if it does the knowledge will hopefully be available.
Spoken like someone who hasn’t used an EV and hasn’t actually looked into it themselves. Modern EVs work for the huge vast majority of commuters even on level 1 charging (a regular 120v home outlet). It’s also much more convenient for them, as they never need to go to a gas station again.
The biggest issue is apartment dwellers. Apartment owners should be required to maintain a certain number and level of access to charging equipment per apartment. Just access to level 1 charging would likely be fine, they just have to be forced to make it available.
I’m generally against large prison sentences, but he deserves life. He was attempting to deprive all Americans from having a say in our democracy. It’s not like he was just hurting himself, or even just a few people.
